GYM

The gym can be found in the downstairs area at Zedwell: just walk down the lobby and take the stairs on the left.

The gym is equipped with dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance machines, and cardio machines, all of the highest quality. It is also fully air conditioned, to ensure maximum comfort.

The gym is open to use for all Zedwell guests.

THE STUDIO

We all know life can be stressful, especially in a city like London (rush hour commute, anyone?). And exercise can help reduce stress and promote good sleep, whilst triggering the production of endorphins, the ‘feel good’ chemicals that improve your sense of wellbeing.

At Zedwell we value your wellness and wellbeing above anything else, so naturally we are big fans of anything yoga, Pilates, and meditation.

We have recruited the most talented instructors and offer daily classes including Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga and Mat Pilates.

You can book your classes by clicking on this link.

CHAIR MASSAGE

Treat yourself to a relaxing massage after a workout session (or not! You can treat yourself to a massage anytime).

Our in-house expert masseuses will be welcoming you with open arms.

You can book your massage here.

BENEFITS OF EXERCISE

The benefits of exercise are endless, but we have tried to list out a few of them for you, to read over on those days when your motivation simply cannot be found!

  • Better sleep! Exercising regularly will help you fall asleep faster, and sleep better and longer. Who doesn’t love a good night’s sleep?

  • Exercise reduces the risk of certain health conditions such as: heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, dental health and type 2 diabetes.

  • Your mood will benefit from regular exercise too. After a good weight session or a run on the treadmill, your body will release a very healthy amount of endorphins, the ‘feel good’ chemicals, which will boost your mood and improve your wellbeing.

  • Exercise is fun! Just find a form of exercise you enjoy and try being as consistent as possible.

 TYPES OF EXERCISE

There are three main types of exercise.

  • Aerobic exercises, also commonly referred to as ‘cardio’, work your lungs and muscles and increase your heart rate. Common forms of aerobic exercise include walking at a fast pace, running, cycling, hiking, and swimming among many others. At the gym, you can use a number of cardio machines such as treadmill, stationary bike and elliptic machine.

  • Strength exercises: every kind of exercise aimed at strengthening a muscle or group of muscles. This type of exercise will, of course, improve your strength but will also stimulate bone growth and repair. You can train your lower and upper body using different machines and equipment such as dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, squat racks, leg press and leg extension machines.

  • Flexibility exercises do exactly what it says on the tin: improve your flexibility and gently stretch your muscles. Yoga and Pilates are amongst the most common types of flexibility exercises. You can do yoga and Pilates at home, or book a class here at Zedwell and be guided by some of the best instructors in London.

One thing is clear: exercise is good for you in so many ways! But, if you want to stay consistent in your routine, you should find an activity that you enjoy, make it fun, and convenient.

We may not be able to drag you out of bed and into a gym, but we can help you with the other points: we offer so many different types of exercise, that you are sure to find the one for you. And what more convenient location than Piccadilly Circus, in the heart on central London?

We look forward to seeing you. Happy sweating!
